__________
The overnight disposition of the German forces did not change dramatically. Outside of one objective in the northeast going becoming unoccupied due to the destruction of 330 Gren Regt Base by an Allied armored recon unit my units held mostly firm. This slippage of Allies through my lines, who's axis of attack I believe is coming from west of Prummern, could cause some real havoc today if it is a sizable force.
AO Links
Germans are in full defense. Tripsrath is facing a strong direct assault from the Allies. My blocking force that was probing near Rischden and Niederheide is falling back north of Rischden where it will directly probe the road leading into the town in an effort to pull some pressure off of Tripsrath. I need to hold this town as long as possible.
The Allies are pushing hard in this sector.
AO Rechts
The clearing of Prummern is still ongoing. Several German units are in retreat recovery west and south of the town. However, if these units recover in time they may be able to out flank the Allies and help regain control of he objective. In the northern sector of the AO, Allies are assaulting supply lines and support units. I have already lost a base and flak platoon to enemy rear area action. I have one infantry company moving towards the known Allied unit.
There is great concern from high command about an unseen Allied force operating north of Prummern
Geilenkirchen (formally known as BP-ACHTECK)
Battle Position (BP)-ACHTECK has been disbanded. Germans in this area has been formally directed to withdraw (using the game order type as well) northeast or risk destruction. Units on the right bank of the Wurm, under command of 343 Grenadier Regt, will withdraw towards Tichelen. Units on the left bank will be led by 2/343 towards the wooded area northeast of Geilenkirchen. There is little chance of controlling the city and these forces will need to survive to fight another day.
The last names battle position has fallen. Geilenkirchen will be in Allied hands by day's end.
Victory points remain even. The day's battles will determine the outcome of the Allies' Operation Clipper. Germans will continue with their overnight operational orders.
