Through the West Wall is going to be a longer scenario compared to my last AAR series. However, I will not present an every 12-hour AAR this time. I will instead layout a plan of attack and then report back a full AAR write up. Along the way I will write Tactics Talks articles covering interesting and pivotal moments of the campaign.
Through the Westwall - Strategic Level Planning Overview
The Allies are planning a strong assault across the Wurm river to establish bridgehead that will enable follow on armored operations. Day 1 (D1-Yellow) objectives are planned in the Top (northern) Sector which contains the main objectives for the day in and around Palenberg and Ubach. Middle Sector (middle of the map...) attacks will secure the major bridge crossing at Herzogenrath which will enable operations on later days. Bottom Sector operations are small in scale and are meant to be a minor river crossing to fix German units in the south. Armored units will push out of the Top and Middle Sectors on Day 2 (D2-Blue) to attack towards Merkstein while maintaining a screening force the north and east. The Day 2 attacks will primarily come from the Top Sector but will also be supported by the Middle Sector bridgehead crossing. Day 3 (D3-Green) reinforcements will continue the push south towards the Bottom Sector crossing and then on to Wurselen. The Day 2 reinforcements will consolidate gains on D3, stabalize lines, and then finally launch their attack on Alsdorf on Day 4 (D4-Purple). Finally, on Day 5 (D5-Brown), southern units will conduct a major attack on Broishweiden while more northern units will ascend in mass on Wurselen.
Objective locations indicated by circles which include Victory Point (VP) values. Dotted lines are the Allies' planned phase lines to be reached by the end of each day.

Time to launch the assault! Onward into Germany!
